“Kant” is the German word for a board or plank of wood – a reference to the production process of this particular sausage. It probably originated in Austria, where the raw sausages were pressed with board after stuffing in order to expel as much moisture as possible.
Caraway and coriander are the most prominently featured elements of our Kantwurst, and they are a match made in heaven.
Sold sliced and vacuum packed on trays of 4 ounces (113 grams). Please indicate in the comments section of your order if you would like an uncut length of sausage to slice at home.
Kantwurst is Kosher for Passover for Sepharadim and does contain Qitniyot in its ingredients.
